Service Description

mutiiaras provides legal services in Malaysian family law, focusing on the following areas:

  • Divorce Petition Filing — preparation, filing, and court attendance for divorce proceedings under the Law Reform (Marriage and Divorce) Act 1976.
  • Child Custody & Guardianship — legal advice and representation on custody arrangements, access rights, and guardianship orders.
  • Matrimonial Asset Division — advisory and representation on identification, valuation, and distribution of assets acquired during marriage.

Services are provided within Malaysia. The Firm does not advise on Islamic family law matters governed by Syariah courts.

Website Use

This Website provides general information about the Firm and its services. It does not constitute legal advice and must not be relied upon as such. Formal legal advice is provided only under a written Retainer.

Fees and Payment

Fees for our Services are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). The fee indications shown on this Website are starting points and subject to a formal written quotation based on the complexity of each matter.

All payment terms, accepted methods, invoicing arrangements, and refund conditions are set out in the individual Retainer agreed with each client. The Firm accepts payment via bank transfer and other methods specified at the time of engagement.

No refund or credit is provided for disbursements already incurred, court filing fees paid, or work completed under a signed Retainer unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Confidentiality

Communications between a client and the Firm are subject to legal professional privilege under Malaysian law. Information shared during an initial enquiry is treated with discretion; however, privilege attaches only once a formal Retainer is in place.

General enquiries submitted through this Website are stored and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Formal client engagements may be terminated by either party in accordance with the provisions set out in the signed Retainer. On termination, outstanding fees for work completed remain payable.

Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises in connection with these Terms or the use of this Website, the parties agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith discussion within 30 days of written notice.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be submitted to mediation under the rules of the Malaysian Mediation Centre before any court proceedings are commenced.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any legal proceedings shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan.

General Provisions

Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and mutiiaras regarding Website use. They supersede all prior discussions or representations on the same subject.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Waiver. Failure by the Firm to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of the right to do so in the future.

Assignment. You may not assign any rights under these Terms without prior written consent from the Firm. The Firm may assign its rights in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
